TLH, Advocates Solicitors (the “Firm”) is committed to ensure the privacy of all persons
(“Users”) who visit and use the website, www.tlh.law (“Website”). Any information provided by the Users through the Website will be governed as per the provisions of this privacy policy (“Policy”). Users are advised to read the Policy prior to use of the Website and provision of any information to the Firm through the Website.

Purpose

This describes the kind of information collected on the Website, and the use, disclosure and handling of such information by the Firm.

Information Collected and Method of Collection

The Firm collects certain types of information upon access and use of the Website by the User (collectively, “Information”), such as:

User Information

User information refers to information submitted by the User to the Firm through the Website, which may qualify as the User’s personal information and sensitive personal information and data as defined under the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.

Demographic Information

Demographic information refers to any information which is not unique to the User and refers to selected population characteristics including age, gender and current location details.

Behavioural Information

Behavioural information refers to information pertaining to Website usage statistics, traffic data, internet protocol address, browser and operating system type, domain names, access times, locations, and details regarding the sections of the Website accessed by the User.

Cookies

A cookie is a small, unique text file that the Website can send to the User’s computer when the User visits Website. The Website may use session cookies, which terminate when the User closes its browser, and/or persistent cookies, which remain on the User's computer until manually deleted. Cookies are used to store User’s preferences (including limited personal information) or to display relevant content based upon what the User views upon the Website.

Action Tags

Action tags enable identification and tracking the performance of web pages on the Website, allowing the Firm to measure the performance standards of the Website and manage Website content. Unlike cookies, which are stored on the hard drive of a computer or mobile device, tags are embedded invisibly, and the information collected using tags is not linked to Users’ personal information.

The User agrees and acknowledges that by using or accessing the Website or otherwise providing the Firm with any Information, where applicable, the User is providing the Firm with its consent to the Firm’s use, collection, retention, transfer and disclosure of Information in accordance with the terms of this Policy.

In the event of a change in the law applicable to data protection in India, the User hereby expressly consents to the Firm’s continued use, storage, collection and disclosure of its Information to the fullest extent permitted under such applicable law.

In case the User chooses not to provide the Firm with or withdraw any or all Information, the Firm may be unable to allow the User to access the Website or otherwise avail services for which the Information is being collected or processed. Further, in the event the User chooses to disclose to the Firm, Information in relation to a third party, with or without such party’s prior consent, the Firm expressly disclaims all liability, the maximum extent permitted under applicable law, with respect to the disclosure, usage and storage of such Information.

Further, the Firm may use social media websites such as LinkedIn. If the User accesses the Website through any of these social media websites, the User should review the terms of use and privacy policy of such social media websites/applications. The Firm disclaims all liability whatsoever regarding any information collected from the User by such social media websites/ applications.

Usage, Retention and Disclosure of Information

The Firm collects and utilises the Information for the following purposes: (a) to operate and improve the Website in order to foster a positive user experience and to protect it from any cyber threats or attacks; (b) to contact or refer the User for career opportunities; (c) for internal operational purposes such as record keeping, accounting and the Firm’s compliance with applicable laws and orders of any judicial, governmental or investigatory authority; (d) to provide the User with regulatory updates; and (e) to invite the User for seminars, webinars and workshops conducted by the Firm.

The Firm does not retain any Information collected from the User for any longer than reasonably required for the purpose of collection of such Information or for such period as may be required by applicable laws in India.

The Firm may disclose certain Information to third parties who are authorised by the Firm to perform certain functions in relation to the Website and/or the Firm’s business, including to persons outside India. The Firm may disclose any Information pursuant to an order from a governmental entity or in good faith, and/or in compliance with applicable law.

Third Party Links

The Website may contain links to third party websites (“Third Party Links”). The Firm has no control over such Third Party Links and assumes no responsibility whatsoever regarding any collection or disclosure of any Information by such companies or persons thereof. The Firm expressly disclaims all liability in relation to any loss or damage which may be incurred by the User as a result of the collection and/or disclosure of its Information via Third Party Links.

Changes to your Information

The User may review, correct, update, delete or change its Information by emailing the Firm at contact@tlh.law, and the Firm will comply with such requests within a reasonable time, unless the Firm is required to retain certain Information for legal or internal record keeping purposes.

Security of Your Information

The Firm endeavours to maintain physical, technical and procedural safeguards that are appropriate to protect the Information against loss, misuse, copying, damage or modification and unauthorized access or disclosure. Some of the security measures adopted by the Firm are:

The Firm reviews the Information collection, storage and processing practices, including physical security measures, to guard against unauthorized access to systems; and

The Firm restricts access to Information, to the Firm’s employees, agents and service providers, on a “need to know” basis.

Further, the Firm expressly disclaims all liability whatsoever, to the maximum extent permitted by law, for (a) any loss or disclosure of Information due to third party actions or events beyond the Firm’s control including but not limited to acts of government, computer hacking, unauthorised access to computer data and storage device, computer crashes, breach of security and encryption, etc., and (b) any breach of confidentiality and privacy under Section 72, Information Technology Act, 2000.

Governing Law

This Policy shall, in all respects, be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. The User agrees to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Hyderabad, India in connection with any dispute arising out of or in connection with this Policy.
